Stop by Mount Pleasant Library during open studio hours to make something!
We have a laser cutter, sublimation printer, vinyl cutter, heat press, sewing machines and computers available. Facilitators are happy to help get you started on projects of your choice. If you have any questions, please email Lee at lsmith@clpvd.org .
Laser Cutter
The Epilog Mini 18 provides a 18″ x 12″ work area and is used for high quality engraving and cutting of wood, acrylics, glass (including drinking glasses), textiles and more. We have a supply of12″ x 12″ x 1/8″ wood squares available. You are welcome to bring your own materials too. Engraving drinking glasses? Please bring your own and avoid stemware and mugs.
Sublimation Printer
Our sublimation printing process uses a heat press to bring ink and polyblend fabrics (at least 50% polyester) together as one. The result is a high quality full color design that is embedded in the substrate rather than laying on top like our heat transfer vinyl process. Please bring your own polyblend fabric. Do you want to sublimate on non-polyblend fabrics (like 100% cotton)? We have special vinyl sublimation paper for that. Sublimation works surprisingly well on wood too.
Vinyl Cutter
Our Silhouette CAMEO vinyl cutter is great for making graphic t-shirts and decals. We have heat-transfer and decal vinyl in an assortment of colors. Please bring your own t-shirt.
Sewing machines
Our sewing machines are available to use during maker nights! If you’re interested in instruction beyond their basic operation, please email Siv at dsiv@provcomlib.org .
