About Funda Fest
FUNDA means to “to learn” in Zulu (one of the African languages spoken in South Africa). RIBS chose this name for the festival because storytelling is the most ancient way peoples of African descent (and other cultures as well) passed on history, traditions, and cultural knowledge. Not only that, it looks like FUN!
Funda Fest 26 runs January 19 – February 3, 2024, and features over 25 performers. Performances take place all around Rhode Island, including the opening party in Providence, a Family Fun Day in Newport and Westerly the ever-popular Liars’ Contest in East Providence, and a concluding Black History Live + event at Southside Cultural Center of RI. Most in-person events will also be live streamed. For the full schedule of events, as well as information about tickets and passes, visit fundafest.org.
