Storyteller Workshop- Everyone has a story...

An eight-week in-person writing course on the fundamentals of storytelling taught by local author Geoff Visgilio.

Are you an aspiring writer but don’t know where to start? Are you intimidated by a blinking cursor on an empty page? Do you have a bunch of ideas, but no idea how to collect them into a single thread? Our storytelling workshop is for you!

Each of us is a natural storyteller – our brains are actually hardwired for narrative. In fact, you’ve probably been telling stories your whole life. In this eight week writing program, we’ll teach you how to translate that natural ability to your own writing. We’ll be looking at the eight key elements of storytelling across various media and how each fits together to form a complete narrative.

Each week, we’ll focus on a different element and complete a class assignment that will be shared with the class the following week.

This program is designed for beginners and those new to writing. Our goal is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for budding writers to learn about the craft of story and to begin sketching out ideas for their own projects.

The class is limited to fifteen students and a full eight week commitment is expected. Students must be willing to share their work with the class and accept suggestions and feedback from their peers.
