United Youth Subcommittee

The United Youth Subcommittee is a subcommittee of the City of Providence’s Mayor’s Coalition on Behavioral Health. The subcommittee consists of Providence teenagers ages 12-17+ that either attend Providence Public middle or high schools or live in Providence. Meetings are held the 3rd Saturday of each month from 2-3:30pm. We like to set up the room from 1:30pm to 2:00pm and clean up from 3:30-4:00pm as we do serve refreshments. During our meetings we discuss how to prevent our underage youth from using substances such as alcohol, tobacco/nicotine (vaping), and marijuana as well as taking care of their mental health. Ultimately, the group nurtures leadership skills as the teens educate themselves and the community and advocate for these issues
