Walking Each Other Home: What is an End of Life Doula?

June 10 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Rochambeau Library – Community Room

What is an End of Life Doula?
A doula is a person trained to provide advice, information, emotional support, and physical comfort. An end of life doula, or death doula, accompanies a person as they are preparing to die, through death itself and after death. Learn about how the role of an End of Life Doula can be a wonderful addition to one’s care team and the growing community of EOL Doulas here in Rhode Island.
This is a great session for not only caregivers and children of aging parents but also new parents, non-parents, single folk, and really any human that is open and curious about life planning options. Judith and Julia are very excited to have another opportunity to educate the public on the power of a well rounded death care team and how impactful working with a doula can be. Holler with any questions by visiting their website, and we hope to see you at Rochambeau!
No registration required.
Judith and Julia are co-founders of End of Life RI, a death doula collaborative started in 2022. They were both trained at the University of Vermont and have obtained their End of Life Doula Professional Certificate.
End of Life RI is a Rhode Island support and education collaborative for the emerging field of death doulas and other end of life professionals. The Collaborative’s mission is to educate the public about the role of the death doula as well as to raise public awareness around death, dying, and the emerging end-of-life planning and support options in Rhode Island.
