Do you like Scary Stories? Do you like writing them?
In this 4-week writing course, we invite writers of all levels to get scary. Each week, we will explore various subgenres of horror and look at different writing styles. Horror ranges from the very quiet to the very loud, so there is a place for every writer in the genre. Whether your interests are in knife-wielding maniacs, monsters from the deep, or suspicious wallpaper. Writers will be encouraged to experiment and explore, pull from personal fears, and complete a scary short story by the end. Homework will include short story readings and writing. In-class discussion and workshopping will be encouraged.
