We are partnering with The Guild Brewing Co. for their Pints with Purpose Program from November 13-27. As a kick-off we get to name our own beer, available for sale throughout the program. We'll also be having some FUN events at the Guild in Pawtucket. All proceeds go to CLPVD.

There is a wealth of information on Ancestry, so much that it can be overwhelming! Join us for a tour through the website and explore how to get started. Attendees will walk away with simple first steps to building a tree, how to verify information, and take advantage of those shaky leave hints. Everyone, even those who use the site occasionally, will come away with a new perspective on how to approach the site and avoid the pitfalls that lure within.
Join us again on Wednesday, March 13 for Ancestry 101 to work on your family tree and gain confidence in using the site.
Both sessions will be facilitated by Heather Pouliot Kisilywicz , who is a RI Genealogical Society board member. She earned a master’s in library and information science from the University of Rhode Island. As an educator, she focuses on improving genealogist research skills, advocating for the genealogy research standards, and offering tips on how to find new sources in local archives. She is a member of the Society of American Archivists, the Association of Professional Genealogists, and the Rhode Island Genealogical Society.
The Rhode Island Genealogy Society (RIGS) was started in 1975 by a small group of family historians and genealogists tracing their Rhode Island roots.
