Join Day One for this introductory program to LGBTQ+ identities offer students a safe space to learn about gender, stereotypes, privilege, and sexuality in their lives and those portrayed in the media. The session will identify ways to support LGBTQIA+ youth and adults, create safe spaces, and connect to local resources. For students grades 9-12 and caregivers who would like to learn more about how to support LGBTQ+ youth.
Day One is the only agency in Rhode Island that is specifically organized to deal with issues of sexual assault as a community concern. We provide treatment, intervention, education, advocacy, and prevention services to Rhode Islanders of all ages—from preschool children to elder adults. Additionally, we advocate for public policy initiatives and systemic changes that positively impact how Rhode Island families handle sexual abuse cases. Through collaboration in partnership with other organizations, we forge lasting connections with the community to further advance our mission.
